Peggottys fish and chips
We went out last night for a Peggotys fish and chips, the restaurant in-between Marbella and Estepona as the Peggottys fish and chip restaurant in Nueva Andalucia just doesn’t seem to have the same atmosphere.
The fish and chips were excellent, service spot on, children kept happy with colouring and crayons provided by the waitress and the childrens’ menu I think is good value. It starts from 5.95 euros and that includes an ice-cream.
They must be doing well as they are not open during lunch time or on a Sunday!
For directions and opening hours call Peggottys on 952883666.
El Corte Ingles Puerto Banus
Very quiet in Puerto Banus today, even though it was a Sunday.
The supermarket in El Corte Ingles, had a huge range of childrens’ trainers which were priced from just under 10 euros to around 30 euros. At the check out there was a further discount on the pair I bought so that was good. I have also got a card, given to me at the checkout, with over 4 euros off if I spend money on children’s clothing/shoes from 1st September through to October, at the supermaket/hypercor there.
Not bad as I only bought a pair of trainers and chewing gum, and had four euros off the trainers and then another 4 euros to spend in September.
That shouldn’t be hard!!
Trampoline with a harness, Puerto Banus
There are lots of rides, air hockey etc in Puerto Banus still whilst the market on the main square is open over the summer.
The trampoline with a harness was 7 euros and my daughter had quite a long go on it. Afterwards we were so hot we went for a quick drink and ice-cream at VIP near the beach. We sat inside as they had air cond. We ordered the 1.50 euros tasters of brownies and cheesecake and some drinks. It still wasn’t cheap though as the sprite was 3 euros. Ouch.
Chinese Shop Puerto Banus
There is a Chinese shop in Puerto Banus that has opened. It is opposite Zara Home and has the usual household, toys, clothes and stationery, which makes these shops so popular.
Hay Fever relief
I know someone that suffers from hay fever badly and they tried a new gadget three times a day and it worked for them. It isn’t cheap but seems to be be getting great reviews. You will look rather unusual during the treatment ( done at home) as your nose will light up bright red, but how festive at Christmas time. It could be your party trick for around the dinner table whilst the turkey is served.
The gadget is called Medisana Medinose and is around £45.00. Available from Chemist Direct.
UK bedding shop by Lidl near Dunnes
There is a huge UK bedding shop very close to Lidl which is right next door to Dunnes shop in Fuengirola. If you walk past Lidl down the side road you will come to it. It has everything you could possibly need for single beds right through to superking sized bedding, mattress toppers, oxford pillowcases, cushions, towels and beautiful throws and bedspreads. I find the choice much better than Dunnes and there are always really good offers on too. Current offers on Egyptian cotton towels, huge bath sheets for 12 euros and there were pillow cases for 3 euros ( not Egyptian cotton though.) Really hepful lady called Julie owns the store and will bend over backwards to help you if they don’t have what you need in stock….but I find they nearly always do.
I think it is called the Yorkshire Bedding Company.
Good kids clothing buys
Dunnes have Ugg like boots for 6 euros. They also have skinny black jeans for 9 euros that comes with a glittery belt too. Sizes mostly 9-11 years.
A little further down the road from Dunnes near Iceland is another large clothing shop and they had purple or pink fluffy hoodless dressing gowns for children 5-8 for 14 euros which I thought was quite good. If you are at Iceland you can walk to this clothing shop which is well laid out and has lovely clothes for little ones and a fair selection for older children.
The huge shoe shop which is virtually next door to Iceland has masses of winter boots for children now in and a selection of school shoes too. Particularly good for younger children but my 11 year old daughter found a pair of slip on shoes for school in black which she was very happy with. Price was 29.95 euros. My younger daughter wasn’t interested in shoes for herself. She kept bringing me toddler boots and shoes for her Build a Bear teddy.
If you need protein after shoe shopping with your children Iceland are selling legs of lambs for 12 euros, half legs for 6 euros!! Shops virtually empty today…..
