UK women top Europe’s obesity poll
UK women have the highest obesity levels in the whole of Europe. Body Mass was used to find out which European country had the fattest ladies and the UK came out on tops.
Almost a quarter of UK women are classified as obese, compared to just over 12% in France and 8% in Romania.
Insurance underwriters use body max indexes to set health insurance premium levels so a high body mass index can see an employer footing a hefty health insurance bill…..
Tabloid Press
Ever so often I just have to rant and this isn’t insurance related…..
A photo has appeared of a 5 year old girl in the newspaper, famous because her mum died at the age of 39 years and because the little girl is set to inherit a lot of money when she is older.
Why or why is it not illegal for a magazine or newspaper to print a photograph of a child up to the age of sixteen? Poor Harper Beckham is constantly having the paps follow her and Suri Cruise suffers the same fate. They are children and they should be protected.
It isn’t rocket science, it’s decent and it is common sense.
Direct Travel Insurance one of the best
Direct Travel Insurance has been shortlisted to the annual Consumer Moneyfacts Survey because its products are technically amongst the best in their field (verified by the extensive research departments of Moneyfacts Group).
The Consumer Moneyfacts Survey is conducted annually and is the only survey that combines honest consumer feedback with the technical merits of a range of financial products. It highlights the best products and lets the consumer praise excellent service. This survey is not about worst, it is about best.
The survey is from 10 October 2011 until 25 November 2011 and customers voting will be entered into a draw to win one of three £1000 prizes for completing the survey. The winners will be announced at a gala evening on the 26 January 2012 in London.
The shortlists for the travel insurance category were drawn up based on product criteria, which included assessments on levels of cover, whether additional extras were included as, range of policies, excess amounts, etc. These shortlists then go forward to the Consumer Moneyfacts Survey, where consumers are asked to give a score out of five on Direct Travel Insurance. These scores make up the remaining 50% of the scoring, alongside the product assessment, to determine the winners.
Would you kill your pet for cash?
I’m being serious, there are now cases where pet owners are killing their pets or claiming that they are lost, so that they can then make a false claim on their pet insurance policy.
Next time I see a dead or injured cat on the road ( like today…) I may check for tyre tracks and whiplash.
Carys Clarke who is a solicitor who works as an insurance fraud investigator for the legal firm Berrymans Lace Mawer has commented, “I am aware of cases where owners have maimed their animals in order to make claims on their policies.”
Slapiton.tv beware
I ordered a YSL gift box on October 18th from Slapiton.tv and on the 28th October I wrote to them frustrated that nothing had arrived and no communication had taken place to inform me of any delays.
I was assured a couple of days later via email that the order would be shipped on the following Tuesday and that there had been a shipping delay.
It is now the 12th November and still nothing has arrived…..no email communication either.
So if you are planning to use Slapiton.tv as you think you may save £2.00 on a beauty product, beware. I have been onto forums and seen many customers who have received exactly the same lack of customer care and service as me.
There isn’t an insurance product out there to stop someone’s Christmas being spoilt because there present hasn’t arrived on the big day.
So I’m providing this insurance service for you.
If you want to order beauty gifts from a reliable company, go to Boots, or CheapSmells online. Both have never let me down…..unlike Slapiton.tv.
