Car Insurance Spain

Car Insurance Spain is becoming more competitive now new companies are entering the marketplace. I am with Linea Directa and they have just called me ” to go through some details” as my car insurance is due shortly. I haven’t received my renewal notice yet and really what they wanted was for me to pay now before I have had a chance to get any competitive quotes. Last year I did just that, went back to Linea Direct and I saved a lot of money.
Just by looking at Abbeygate Insurance they are offering 10% off any car insurance quote that you have. Axa insurance are offering 30 euros off the quote online. So it is worth getting some other quotes and then going back to your original company if you are happy with them and seeing if they will match it.
If not, go elsewhere…..much easier by the way if your car insurance is NOT on direct debit…..

It is far better to NOT to have any insurances direct debited here in Spain – I am with AXA for all my insurances, home, flats, car, and bike. Each year I have a fight with them and then always renew. If the premium was automatically taken out of my account I would not have a chance of a better quotation.
I did try Direct Line and they insisted on my bank account detials and said it was ‘the Law’ in Spain – when I asked why they required this info they said – “should I have an accident they might need to pay some money into my account “. Really!!
I actually renewed my home insurance today and paid at the AXA office in Fuengirola – right by the Bio Parc.
