It is already law in France to have your pools fenced and there are attempts now within the Spanish Government to have the same laws passed in Spain. Either way, if have young children then a pool fence can give you peace of mind and if you have a property you rent out, having a pool fenced makes it child friendly and gives you an extra edge on your competition.

If you would like to find out more you can contact Advasol Solutions based in Estepona, a really friendly family run business. As well as pool fencing, they also specialise in pool heating and solar heating.

  2. I totally agree with this – how can anyone rent out a villa when the pool is not fenced. It might not be law yet in Spain but surely you have a duty to your tenants to make your villa a safe as possible. OK you might not be liable under Spanish law but if a child were to die in your pool you would never be able to forgive yourself. I think it has been law in France for several year now and I cannot understand why it is not law here in Spain. In the USA all pools appear to be fenced.
