Horse riding Costa del Sol
There are many horse riding stables in the Costa del Sol. I have personally tried the horse riding stables based in Estepona. There you can lead a pony for under 10 euros and let a toddler or young child just experience being high up on a pony. They have a pony centre at Estepona for young children to learn to ride. They also have riding activities during school holidays. I found them quite strict at Estepona, well the English staff there were and if you have quiet and sensitive children who just want to enjoy learning to ride this may not suit them. However staff change and it was several years ago that we were last there. Due to the stroppy staff we changed to Los Caireles in Marbella. It is tucked away and quite hard to find but cheaper than Estepona but with more basic stables. Lovely staff, very Spanish so good for the language learning. The outdoor arena that they use for children is quite small and the corners are therefore tighter so personally in terms of facilities the Estepona riding centre outclasses Los Caireles. However my children had a much happier time riding there and as an adult I would have chosen it too.
The stables that lots of my daughter’s friends now ride in is a stable at La Cala. I haven’t been to this one, but again it has those holiday time riding activities organised. All three stables also have full livery.
