Car hire Gibraltar

If you are planning car hire at Gibraltar consider crossing over into La Linea if you are planning car hire at Gibraltar and are considering driving in mainland Spain. A friend of mine recently compared car hire companies at Gibraltar and found that a short walk over the border from Gibraltar airport into La Linea, Spain, meant she made a big saving of well over 100 euros on her car hire. She paid an extra five euros a day for extra insurance and it was just as well as she damaged the car quite badly. Now all repairs will be covered. You may have to ask as you arrive at Gibraltar where the car hire company is if you need to cross the border, but so long as you can cope with a walk of a few hundered metres and your suitcases have wheels, then the savings may be worth it for you.

Gibraltar airport is a good one to fly into if you are staying west of Marbella, areas such as Sotogrande, Estepona, or Casares. Airlines that fly into Gibraltar include Easyjet, Monarch and British Airways. Andalus Lineas Aereas flies to Madrid from Gibraltar airport a couple of times per day.
